Since 1803, the residents of Scioto County have elected forty-nine unique individuals to the Office of Sheriff. The mission of each and every one of them remains the same today, "To Carry Out the Duties of the Office of Sheriff". In summary, to protect the lives and property of all people by "Preserving the Peace" as mandated by the laws of the
State of Ohio and the Constitution of the United States.
"The means by which a law enforcement agency uses to pursue the mission determines the success of the mission!"
