The arrest of a Portsmouth couple has netted authorities drugs, cash, electronics, tools and vehicles.

Chester Caldwell, 65, and Brenda Caldwell, 56, will have their cases forwarded to the Scioto County Prosecutor's Office to be presented to the Scioto County grand jury.

Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini said at about 3:25 p.m. Thursday, detectives from the sheriff's office, along with investigators from Southern Ohio Correctional Facility and the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections executed a narcotics search warrant at the Caldwell residence at 2025 20th St.

Donini said narcotics detectives obtained a search warrant for the Caldwell residence upon collecting evidence of drug trafficking taking place at the residence.

was served, officers seized prescription medication such as OxyContin and Diazepam, marijuana, several thousand dollars cash, and electronics, tools and vehicles believed to have been obtained from proceeds of drug trafficking.

A spokesperson at the Scioto County Sheriff's Office said Friday the case would go to the prosecutor in the next five days, then it will be forwarded to the grand jury for consideration of criminal charges.

Donini said he appreciated the SOCF and ORDC for their assistance in executing the warrant and making the arrests.
